The Work@Health program trains U.S. employers on how to establish and improve science-based health promotion strategies. These methods can help reduce chronic disease rates at the workplace.

Program components

Core curriculum

The Work@Health Core Curriculum training helps employers develop a basic skill set to build a workplace health program.

  • Training is designed to help employers of various sizes, geographic distribution, and industries.
  • Training is delivered through eight core modules.
  • Modules focus on understanding the need for a workplace health program, building leadership, communications, program evaluation, and more.

Train-the-Trainer

The Work@Health Train-the-Trainer (certified) training will provide employers with the knowledge and tools to train other employers on how to promote good health in their workplace. Trainers will learn how to teach the Work@Health Core Curriculum.

  • Participants can use this training to improve worker productivity by promoting a healthier workplace.
  • Training is for employers who have a strong interest in promoting workplace health in their community.
  • The training consists of five core modules and a training lab.
  • Modules cover understanding different learning styles, delivering engaging training, creating a positive learning environment, using evaluation tools, and more.

Wellness Champions

The Work@Health Wellness Champions are organizations or employers that have demonstrated a commitment to promoting the Work@Health program within their networks.

  • Wellness Champions promote the Work@Health program to their community.
  • They are recognized by CDC.
  • They assist the Work@Health team with follow-up activities.
