We are taking steps to continue to modernize and secure our data, applications, and systems. We completed the first phase and restored many of the functions put on pause in May 2021. Now that the first phase is complete, work will resume at a slower pace but will speed up as new systems and applications are brought online. Passing of Advisory Board’s R. William Field, Ph.D., M.S.
November 17, 2022
Dr. Bill Field, a long-time member of the NIOSH Advisory Board on Radiation and Work Health (Board) passed away on Friday, November 4, 2022. On behalf of the entire Board, the Board’s Designated Official, and the entire NIOSH Division of Compensation Analysis and Support and its contractor—the Oak Ridge Associated Contractors Consortium, I want to express our deepest condolences to Dr. Field’s family, his friends and colleagues. Dr. Field joined the Board in 2009. Throughout his time on the Board, his work on the Board was considered by all involved to be impeccable. His questions and comments during meetings were always thought-provoking and insightful as the Board navigated through very complex technical issues over the years. Despite receiving his medical diagnosis in early 2022, and despite the rigors of medical treatment, Dr. Field always retained the hope of continuing his work on the Board. Bill was deeply valued as a Board member and we will miss him greatly.
