CDCM PHA STEM Lesson – Climate Change & Health
In Climate Change & Health, student scientists learn about some of the effects that climate change has on public health. Students start by conducting an experiment to measure the effects of carbon dioxide concentrations on atmospheric temperature. Students complete a scientific research poster, which they display and present to others. Students then take a deep dive into one of the health effects of climate change and create an infographic to share with others.
Topics included in Climate Change & Health:
- Causes of climate change
- Major effects of climate change on public health
- Public health approach to addressing epidemics
- Measuring the effects of greenhouse gases
- Preparing scientific research posters and infographics
- Public health communication
