Planning
The Division of Viral Hepatitis (DVH) 2025 Strategic Plan articulates our vision, mission, core values, and goals. Each goal is defined by time-bound outcome measures, supporting objectives and associated strategies. The plan was developed by DVH staff in 2019 with support from the National Center for HIV, Viral Hepatitis, STD, and Tuberculosis Prevention (NCHHSTP).
Collaborating with federal partners
The DVH strategic plan is informed by and aligned with our federal partners' goals and objectives. Below you will find the NCHHSTP plan, and the plan written by the Office of Infectious Disease and HIV/AIDS Policy (OIDP), in the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).
Measuring progress
CDC tracks and reports progress in the annual Viral Hepatitis National Progress Report. It provides information on progress toward 2025 goals for new viral hepatitis infections, viral hepatitis–related deaths overall, and for key populations.
Viral Hepatitis National Progress Reports
The goals and associated targets in the progress reports are formulated and aligned with the CDC's Division of Viral Hepatitis Strategic Plan. Ten objective indicators assess progress toward achieving viral hepatitis goals. The report will indicate whether the annual target was met or exceeded, moving toward the annual target but not fully met, or not met, has not changed, or moved away from the annual target.
