ArcGIS Pro
The 2017 American Community Survey data were used to create the map.
Quintiles were used to categorize census tract distributions for the following groups:
- Percent of the total population between the ages of 40 and 64.
- Percent of the total population below the federal poverty line.
- Percentage of the total population who are female.
Network-based service areas to WISEWOMAN providers were calculated to determine the percent of population within a 15 minute drive time for each of these groups. Inclusion in a service area was based on the location of a population weighed centroid at the census tract level for each group.
The map will be sent to the CDC WISEWOMAN project officer. This layout will be used to create maps for other WISEWOMAN providers. This map could be used to inform whether travel vouchers should be provided to participants. Alabama WISEWOMAN program could also use this layout to see if the location of a new provider is accessible.
