Columns Panel - Charts

At a glance

The Columns Panel for charts allows for the adjustment of the format of the data table and tooltip hovers. This includes adding columns not included in the visualization that provide context, adding prefixes/suffixes that were left out of the original data set, and changing the display order of the columns.

Where to Use

Visualization Types‎

This panel displays the fields listed below for all chart types. Please note that the column panel for Maps displays significantly different fields.

Chart Fields

All settings listed below are accessed by clicking the Add Configuration button under the Columns panel.

Column: Choose the column to add or adjust.

Associate to Series: Associate this configuration with one of the data series you selected in the Data Series Panel. Leave blank to associate to all series. If nothing has been selected in the Data Series panel yet, this option will display a blank dropdown.

Label: Change the column name and tooltip label.

Prefix: Add characters before the data, such as $.

Suffix: Add characters after the data, such as %.

Round: Set the number of places to round the data to.

Add Commas to Numbers: Place commas in numbers 4 digits or longer.

Show in Data Table: Check to show this column in the data table.

Show in Tooltip: Check to show this information in the tooltip hover.

Order: Change the order of the column in the data table.
