Overview

The Active Communities Tool Assessment Modules are designed to help users assess the strengths and weaknesses of community plans, policies, and resources for improving community built environments for physical activity.

These six modules are best suited for use by a cross-sector team with a single town or city (also referred to as a municipality or community) that has powers of self-governance.

The Assessment Modules can be part of your broader action planning process discussed in The Action Planning Guide. Each module's cover page in the Guide includes information about that module. Information may include purpose, type(s) of technical expert(s) to involve in completing the module, and how long it takes to complete the module.
