Custom Map Layers Panel

At a glance

The Custom Map Layers panel allows you to add an overlay to your map to call out specific regions.

Where to Use

Visualization Types‎

This panel displays for all map types except US County Maps.

Fields

Add Map Layer: Click to add a layer to your map.

  • Layer Name: Name your layer.
  • File: Enter the path to the URL for the TopoJson.
  • TopoJson Namespace: Enter the object in the TopoJson that needs to be read.
  • Fill Color: Select a hex color for the layer.
  • Fill Opacity (%): Set the opacity for your layer.
  • Stroke Color: Select a hex color for the outline.
  • Stroke Width: Set the number of pixels wide for the outline.
  • Tooltip: Enter the text for your tooltip here.
