Who Can Participate?

Use the information below to help you determine if you’re eligible to participate in V-safe and tell CDC how you feel after vaccination. The following vaccines are currently being monitored in V-safe: 2023-2024 Updated COVID-19 Vaccines (Moderna, Novavax, Pfizer-BioNTech), Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) for older adults, and maternal RSV.

2023-2024 Updated COVID-19 Vaccines — (Moderna, Novavax, Pfizer-BioNTech)

  • Moderna 2023–2024 updated COVID-19 vaccine
  • Novavax 2023–2024 updated COVID-19 vaccine
  • Pfizer-BioNTech 2023–2024 updated COVID-19 vaccine

Who Can Participate?

  • People aged 6 months and older (or parents and caregivers on behalf of participants)
  • Must have received a 2023-2024 updated COVID-19 vaccine within the last 42 days
  • Must live in the United States or U.S. territories

Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) Vaccine for Older Adults (Aged 60 and older) — (Arexvy & Abrysvo)

  • RSVPreF3 vaccine (Arexvy by GSK)
  • RSVpreF vaccine (Abrysvo by Pfizer)

Who Can Participate?

  • Adults aged 60 years and older (or caregivers on behalf of adults aged 60 years and older)
  • Must have received an RSV vaccine within the last 42 days
  • Must live in the United States or U.S. territories

Maternal RSV Vaccine — (Abrysvo)

  • RSVpreF vaccine (Abrysvo by Pfizer)
  • Abrysvo is the only RSV vaccine recommended during pregnancy.

Who Can Participate?

  • Pregnant people aged 16-49 years (or parents and caregivers on behalf of participants)
  • Must have received a maternal RSV vaccine licensed for pregnant people between 32-36 weeks of pregnancy
  • Must have received a maternal RSV vaccine within the last 42 days
  • Sex at birth must be female
  • Must live in the United States or U.S. territories
