The Association of Immunization Managers (AIM) has led what was previously known as the CDC Childhood Immunization Award and the HPV Vaccine is Cancer Prevention Award since 2022. The Immunization Champion Award, presented by AIM, honors up to one Champion from each of the designated immunization jurisdictions, which includes 50 U.S. states, five cities, the District of Columbia, and eight U.S. territories/freely associated states. Eligible nominees are those that have gone above and beyond in their work to promote or foster vaccinations in their communities, for both children and adults.
The Role of Champions
When families, healthcare professionals, and public health officials work together, all people can be protected from serious and deadly vaccine-preventable diseases.
Immunization Champions may be community health workers who promote vaccines to all of their clinic patients, school nurses who ensure that their students are up to date on their immunization schedule, and doctors who engage in community outreach to underserved populations. They are parents, health professionals, community advocates, and other immunization leaders that significantly contribute to public health in their community
The Immunization Champions are an inspiration to everyone who cares about the health of their community. The Association of Immunization Managers (AIM) and CDC are pleased to recognize the recipients of the award for the special contributions they have made through their work in immunization.
2025 Immunization Champion Award Winners
- The 2025 Immunization Champion Award winners have been announced by the Association of Immunization Managers (AIM) to celebrate National Immunization Awareness Month. The Immunization Champion Award honors individuals working at the state, local, and territorial levels going above and beyond to promote or foster vaccinations in their communities, for both children and adults.
