Rhythm method
NOTE: The“Calendar rhythm” method of contraception is when a woman’s fertile period is determined by counting the days from the start of her menstrual period each month. The woman abstains from sexual intercourse on her fertile days or uses another contraceptive method.
Calendar rhythm method use among women 15-44 years of age, 2011-2015:
- Percentage of women who have ever used the calendar rhythm method (among women who have ever had sexual intercourse): 16.2% (0.64)
- Percentage of women currently using the calendar rhythm method2: 1.0% (0.14)

NOTE: This method, was captured with one question in the 2011-2013 questionnaire asking about the calendar rhythm method. In 2013-2015 it was captured with this same question plus an additional question asking about “Standard Days Method” or “Cycle Beads”.
