ICD-10 Coordination and Maintenance

The ICD-10 Coordination and Maintenance Committee coordinates and maintains the International Classification of Disease, Tenth Revision (ICD-10) code sets in the United States. The ICD-10 Clinical Modification (ICD-10-CM) set is for diagnosis codes. The ICD-10 Procedure Code System (ICD-10-PCS) set is for inpatient medical procedures.

The committee receives proposals to revise ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS. It also holds public meetings to discuss the proposals. The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) makes final decisions on code revisions through a clearance process following the meeting. No final decisions are made at committee meetings.
