Laboratory scientists can become influential public health leaders and disease detectives

CDC's Laboratory Leadership Service (LLS) is looking for PhD laboratory scientists ready to build leadership skills while applying laboratory expertise to solve real-world public health problems.

As an LLS fellow, you’ll apply your laboratory expertise to an unparalleled experience in a CDC, state, local, or territorial public health lab. As a disease detective you will work alongside CDC’s Epidemic Intelligence Service (EIS) officers and other experts while responding to public health emergencies. You will lead laboratory capacity-building projects and cutting-edge research for your host program and provide expert support on laboratory safety and quality initiatives. LLS alumni most often credit the specialized leadership and communications training received during their fellowship as key to preparing them for leadership careers in public health.
