Leading Causes of Death – Females – United States, 2016

The leading causes of death are presented on this site by combined race and Hispanic origin as: non-Hispanic White, non-Hispanic Black, non-Hispanic American Indian or Alaska Native, non-Hispanic Asian or Pacific Islander, and Hispanic. Race and Hispanic origin are reported separately on the death certificate. Therefore, data presented for non-Hispanic persons reflect a combination of the two characteristics; data presented for Hispanic persons include all persons of Hispanic origin of any race.
