  • CDC’s Office of Women’s Health (OWH) promotes public health research, evidence-based programs, policies, and strategies to improve the health and well-being of women and girls. The office serves as a central point for women’s health and raises visibility of risk factors and other conditions that impact women and girls’ health.

Overview

OWH collaborates with leadership from CDC Centers, Institutes, & Offices, other federal agencies, national organizations, professional associations, consumer groups, researchers, and others with shared interests in advancing the health and well-being of women and girls.

Action plans

CDC’s Office of Women’s Health:

  • Establishes goals and objectives related to prevention, research, education and training, service delivery, and policy development for issues concerning women and girls.
  • Reports on current CDC's women's and girl's health research, prevention programs, services, treatment, and public and professional education activities.
  • Represents CDC on cross-cutting issues.
  • Disseminates CDC women and girl's health resources and guidance.
