This table reports the number of cases of tuberculosis (TB) disease by Hispanic ethnicity and non-Hispanic race, and U.S. reporting area in 2024.

Key Highlights

  • At least 70% of TB cases were reported among persons identifying as Hispanic, Black or African American, or Asian in all but 13 reporting areas.
  • Although accounting for 2% nationally among persons with TB, persons identifying as Native Hawaiian or Other Pacific Islander comprised a substantial percentage of TB cases in certain reporting areas including in Kansas (58%), Arkansas (41%), Oklahoma (22%), and Washington (13%).
  • Similarly, although accounting for 1% of persons with TB nationally, persons identifying as American Indian or Alaska Native comprised more than 10% of TB cases in Alaska (77%), Montana (33%), South Dakota (33%), and Oklahoma (11%).
