About

This table describes the number of cases of tuberculosis (TB) disease in the United States, percentages, and incidence rates by origin of birth from 1993 to 2024.

Key Highlights

  • Most TB cases in the United States are among non-U.S.–born persons. Consistent with the trend of the last 5 years, the percentage of cases among non-U.S.–born persons increased to 77% in 2024.
  • The TB incidence rate among non-U.S.–born persons (15.7) is nearly 20 times higher than the rate among U.S.-born persons (0.8).
