Overview
The Presidential Management Fellows (PMF) program is a highly-selective, prestigious two-year flagship leadership development fellowship. PMF is a fast-paced, paid program that develops problem solvers, strategic thinkers, and future leaders. It is administered by the U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM).
The PMF program was created in 1977 by President Jimmy Carter. The program aimed to attract scholars from different academic disciplines and career paths with an interest in leadership and management in public policies and programs.
As a PMF, you can take your experience anywhere you want to go with your career. Many PMFs have continued their federal service, gone to the private sector, academia, and non-profit organizations.
The Presidential Management Fellowship's mission has remained the same over the years: to recruit and develop a cadre of future government leaders drawn from all segments of society.
