Call for Papers: Improving Women’s Heart Health Across the Life Stages
Preventing Chronic Disease (PCD) invites researchers, evaluators, clinicians, and health system leaders to submit manuscripts that address innovative strategies for cardiovascular outcomes among women across the life stages (emerging adulthood [mid- to late 20s], early adulthood [late teens to mid-40s], middle adulthood [mid-40s to late 60s], and late adulthood [late 60s to late 80s]). PCD is especially interested in emerging practice areas that support women’s cardiovascular health, such as women-centered clinics, digital health solutions, wearable technologies, and other innovative strategies. Examples of topics include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Monitoring cardiovascular outcomes by demographic and reproductive factors
- Women-centered cardiovascular clinics and care models
- Postpartum cardiovascular prevention initiatives
- Digital health, remote monitoring, and wearable technologies
- Use of artificial intelligence and cardiovascular risk prediction in women
- Community health worker interventions in cardiovascular care
- Nutrition and physical activity interventions to improve chronic conditions among women
- Mental health and chronic disease management among women
Submission Guidelines
Manuscripts should be submitted to PCD on or before November 27, 2026. Submitted manuscripts will be reviewed and, if accepted, published on a rolling basis. Once all accepted manuscripts have been published, they will be compiled into a PDF collection accessible on the PCD website. Manuscripts must adhere to PCD’s Types of Articles instructions and will undergo the journal’s standard review processes.
