*Each jurisdiction’s submitted data underwent a cleaning and error check process. Jurisdictions reporting ≥20% of total infants receiving service (e.g., hearing screening) in the “Unknown” category, for each demographic variable, were excluded from this analysis.

D/HH = Deaf or Hard of Hearing

Formulas Used

Percentage of infants screened for each category is calculated among the total occurrent births (i.e., % Males Screened = [( # Total Pass Screening:Male + Total Not Pass Screening:Male) / # Total Occurrent Births:Male ] x 100 ).

Percentage of infants receiving diagnostic evaluation for each category is calculated among the total number of infants not passing hearing screening (i.e., % Males Receiving Diagnostic Evaluation After Not Passing Hearing Screening = [( # Total with Typical Hearing:Male + Total D/HH:Male) / # Total Not Pass Screening:Male ] x 100 ).

Percentage of infants enrolled in Part C Early Intervention services for each category is calculated among the total number of infants diagnosed as D/HH (i.e., % Males Enrolled in Part C Early Intervention After Diagnosed as D/HH) = [( # Total Enrolled in Part C Early Intervention:Male) / # Total Diagnosed as D/HH:Male ] x 100 ).
