What it is
Medical Laboratory Professionals Week is an annual celebration to highlight and show appreciation for laboratory professionals. Lab Week is sponsored by the American Society for Clinical Laboratory Science and coordinated by 17 national clinical laboratory organizations.
CDC’s Division of Laboratory Systems celebrates the 49th annual Medical Laboratory Professionals Week. It recognizes clinical and public health laboratory professionals for their contributions to the health of our:
- Communities, through their work in public health and clinical laboratories
- Family members, friends, and colleagues who are patients in clinical settings
Theme
The theme for Lab Week 2024 is The Future is Lab. We celebrate laboratory professionals who protect our future by skillfully adapting to meet today’s evolving patient care and public health challenges. Their resilience, innovation, and expertise are key to their success. This theme also creates awareness and excitement about working in a laboratory setting.
