Immunization information systems (IIS) are confidential, population-based, computerized databases that record all immunization doses administered by participating providers to persons residing within a given geopolitical area. This information details how to access immunization records for vaccine recipients who received a vaccine in Delaware.

General Information

Delaware's IIS is called DelVAX, and it includes immunization records for vaccine recipients of all ages. Visit this webpage to learn more about the IIS.

The jurisdiction is authorized by law to operate DelVAX. For more information, please see 16 Delaware Administrative Code § 4202-7.1.14.

Child Consent to Participate

For children, DelVAX requires mandatory inclusion by law. Children are included in the IIS with no possibility for their parent(s)/guardian(s) to opt them out.

Delaware does have a mandate for vaccination providers to report immunizations to DelVAX. The reporting mandate:

Delaware does not yet have a policy that regulates sharing data from DelVAX with other public health entities.
