Purpose
Use our inspection form and resources to inspect aquatic venues based on CDC's guidance. This guidance aims to prevent injuries and illnesses at pools, hot tubs, and splash pads open to the public.
Overview
Inspecting aquatic venues is an essential part of environmental health aquatic programs. These venues can be operated by hotels and motels, apartment complexes, departments of parks and recreation, homeowners' associations, membership clubs (such as gyms), schools, and waterparks.
CDC's Model Aquatic Health Code (MAHC) is guidance to prevent injury and illness at aquatic venues open to the public. Use our inspection form and accompanying tools based on the MAHC to improve your program. The MAHC aims to prevent injuries and illnesses at pools, hot tubs, and splash pads open to the public, including drowning, pool chemical injuries, and disease outbreaks linked to swimming.
