The 2024 application cycle for the Evaluation Fellowship Program is closed. Applications will open Fall 2024. For questions, please contact evaluationfellows@cdc.gov.
How to apply
Applicants for the fellowship go through an extensive selection process, including interviews with potential host programs. The process ends by matching fellows with a CDC host program based on mutual interest.
The application will include:
- Questions about applicants' educational and evaluation experience.
- Questions about applicants' interest and goals for applying to the program.
- Upload of applicants' resume or CV.
- Two letters of recommendation (requested through the application portal).
- Transcript of highest educational degree (Transcripts issued to the student are acceptable with the application. However, they must state your degree of study, courses taken, earned grades, and graduation date. If selected as a fellow, you must have your academic institution(s) send an official transcript(s) issued directly to the CDC Evaluation Fellowship and CDC Human Resources Office).
- Copy of green card (if applicable).

- All application materials are due.
- CDC’s Evaluation Fellowship Program notifies those who are chosen as finalists
- Deadline for finalists to review and rate their interests in CDC host programs
- Host programs review finalist application packets, select finalists to invite, and conduct interviews.
- During this time, the fellowship program hosts two check-in meetings with finalists to review next steps and discuss questions.
- Finalists will have access to a list of current Evaluation fellows who are available and have volunteered to chat with applicants.
- Deadline for CDC host programs and finalists to submit rank-ordered list respectively
- Match process and notification to finalists who matched
- Deadline for matched finalists to accept or decline assignments
- Estimated start date and CDC employee orientation
