Epi Info™ for Mobile Devices
Thank you for being part of the Epi Info™ Community of Users.
After careful consideration, CDC will be phasing out support for Epi Info™. Product development and technical assistance for Epi Info™ will discontinue after Sept. 30, 2025. The Desktop tool will remain functional without CDC assistance as long as Windows 11 is supported by Microsoft. This sunsetting decision is part of CDC's realignment of resources to focus on products that support the ONE CDC approach to data modernization in public health strategies. CDC understands that this may impact your operations, and we want to ensure users have ample time to transition smoothly. CDC is committed to assist throughout this transition period. A team has been assembled to ensure smooth sunsetting of support for Epi Info™ with an emphasis on customer experience. The team will continue to offer support and maintenance for Epi Info™ until the sunset date.
If you have any questions, please contact: epiinfohelp@cdc.gov or check our website in the near future for additional updates/information regarding this announcement.
Epi Info™ mobile apps bring many of the features of Epi Info™ for Windows onto Android and iOS mobile platforms. Epidemiologists can calculate sample sizes, collect data, and perform analysis using their smartphones or tablets to investigate outbreaks, respond to emergencies, or conduct public health research in locations lacking IT infrastructure. Data collection forms can be designed using Epi Info™ for Windows and emailed to users of mobile devices. The apps will load the forms and allow users to immediately collect data in the field. Epi Info™ mobile apps are also cloud-aware, enabling organizations to quickly consume cloud services to allow teams of epidemiologists to collect data collaboratively. Data can be collected offline and synchronized with team members when Internet connectivity becomes available. For users already connected to the Internet via Wi-Fi or cellular data, collected data can be uploaded to the cloud instantly to allow for real-time data analysis and situational awareness.
