Manuscript summaries
CDC performed a comprehensive evaluation of the Colorectal Cancer Control Program (CRCCP). The evaluation examined how evidence-based interventions (strategies that have been shown to increase colorectal cancer screening) were used, changes in clinic-level colorectal cancer screening rates over time, and the cost-effectiveness of some interventions.
- Economic Evaluation of Interventions to Increase Colorectal Cancer Screening: A series of research briefs examined the effectiveness of interventions that four CRCCP recipients used to increase colorectal cancer screening.
- Integrated Approaches to Delivering Cancer Screenings to Address Disparities: CRCCP focuses on increasing colorectal cancer screening in populations that have traditionally been medically underserved. To guide CRCCP recipients, CDC scientists wrote three papers describing assessments of cancer screening approaches that CRCCP recipients used.
- Economic Assessment of Patient Navigation to Improve Colonoscopy Completion: The University of Chicago Medical Center received CRCCP funds to start an onsite non-nurse facilitated patient navigation program.
- Role of an Implementation Economics Analysis: This study describes how economic evaluations of approaches to increase colorectal cancer screening can improve decision making and program implementation.
