Summary

Surveillance projects in Baltimore and Philadelphia were conducted between January 1, 2009 and December 31, 2011 to estimate incidence of ALS within a defined geographic area in the US. The reported demographic characteristics and incidence estimates were consistent with previously published findings. These finding help to further quantify the burden of ALS within the US.
