What to know
Awarded in 2022, this project was a joint venture between the public health laboratories of New Mexico, Wyoming, Idaho, and Montana; the University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center; and TriCore Reference Laboratories to gather and use data from the genomic sequencing of SARS-CoV-2 to provide the laboratories with information on patterns of viral transmission and evolution. The targeted focus enhanced surveillance for a multistate region and provided information on novel variants and on patterns of viral transmission and evolution.
