Projected Cost Savings of a Community Health Worker Model for Asthma Home Visits in the Massachusetts Pediatric Medicaid Population

In 2019, 546,466 children had 1 day or more of MassHealth eligibility, 78,641 (14%), had 365 days of MassHealth eligibility. Among that population, 9,785 (12%) had an asthma diagnosis, and 1,367 (14% of those that had an asthma diagnosis) had 2 or more emergency department visits with asthma as any diagnosis.
