The National Minority Quality Forum, a recipient under IP21-2106, receives funding to advance vaccine equity. They shared the following story about recent efforts:

The National Minority Quality Forum’s (NMQF) Center for Sustainable Health Care Quality and Equity conducted a nationwide initiative to promote vaccine equity from August 2023 to March 2024. During this period, they partnered with clinics, pharmacists, churches, stylists, and barbers in 25 states to increase access to and awareness of COVID-19, flu, and other adult vaccines. Their work included educating community members about vaccines and their availability, debunking myths, and connecting community members to pharmacists who administered vaccines at community events.

In addition to these partnerships, they worked with health champions to increase vaccine awareness. These trusted messengers sent 10,651 emails throughout respiratory virus season. They also created 291 social media posts that generated 326,221 views. Lastly, they held 5 webinars that had 408 participants.

NMQF’s efforts led to 175,102 vaccinations during the 2023-2024 respiratory virus season, including almost 10,000 COVID-19 vaccines at mobile or pop-up sites.
