Renee

Renee remembers feeling very alone and isolated during her treatment for TB disease. She needed support from others during this difficult time.

Renee found We Are TB, a support group of TB survivors, through an internet search and reached out for help.

Renee attended her first We are TB meeting online and knew she was in the right place.

Greg

Greg was afraid to talk to people about TB disease. He didn't think anyone understood what he was going through.

He felt less afraid talking about TB once he connected with We Are TB.

Preeni

Preeni remembers crying at night during her treatment for TB disease. She didn’t know if she would ever feel better. She worried about side effects from her medications.

She remembers feeling so relieved when talking with another TB survivor who had similar experiences. Preeni encourages anyone who is dealing with TB disease to reach out to others for support.

Kate

Kate is a TB survivor and active member of We Are TB. She encourages other TB patients and family members to join the support space.

Kate wants others to be aware that We Are TB holds a weekly support group online Monday nights. They also have a meeting once a month for Spanish speakers.

Resources

We are TB, and Somos TB (for Spanish-speakers), is a community of TB survivors, people being treated for TB, and their family members, committed to the common goal of eliminating TB. The group provides comprehensive peer support for current TB patients and TB clinics.
