Environmental Health Specialists Network (EHS-Net) brings together federal, state, and local environmental health specialists and epidemiologists. EHS-Net research partners work to better understand the environmental causes of foodborne illness. Learn more about EHS-Net and its funded partners.

Current partners

EHS-Net partners help state and local health departments improve the practice of environmental health service programs who work to prevent outbreaks.

In fiscal year 2020, CDC awarded $1.54 million to four state and four local health departments for EHS-Net activities in 2020–2025A:

Partnerships to improve practices‎

EHS-Net links environmental health specialists from state and local agencies with federal partners, including CDC, the Food and Drug Administration (Center for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition), and the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
