Responding to Oropouche in the United States

CDC has compiled recommendations for responding to travel-associated or locally acquired Oropouche cases.

In addition, information is provided to assist jurisdictions in protecting pregnant persons and their infants. This document serves as a reference for public health decision-making and is not meant to be prescriptive or comprehensive. Activities and decisions are jurisdiction- and situation-specific. The response activities outlined in this plan are based on currently available knowledge about OROV, its transmission, and its possible effects on pregnant people and infants. The CDC is available to support STLT partners and healthcare providers for any inquiries, consultations, or assistance with investigations.
