Quarterly Provisional Death Rates for COVID-19
1The number of deaths per 100,000 total population.
NOTES: Deaths from coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) were identified using underlying cause-of-death codes U07.1 in the International Classification of Diseases, Tenth Revision. The death rates for “12 months ending with quarter” (also called moving average rate) are the average rates for the 12 months that end with the quarter on the horizontal time axis. Estimates for the 12-month period ending with a specific quarter include all seasons of the year and, thus, are insensitive to seasonality. Map displays age-adjusted rates for the 12 months ending with the most recent quarter. Crude and age-adjusted data for prior quarters are available for download.
