Estimates for history of cancer presented in Health, United States are based on data from the National Health Interview Survey assessed as part of the Sample Adult questionnaire. Estimates are based on responses to the question, “Have you ever been told by a doctor or other health professional that you had cancer or a malignancy of any kind?” Estimates exclude squamous cell and basal cell carcinomas.
