CDC Conference of Radiation Control Program Directors (CRCPD) Roundtable Materials

Below are two reports that summarize meetings organized by the CDC and the Conference of Radiation Control Program Directors, Inc.(CRCPD) in 2008 and 2009.

Report on the CDC Conference of Radiation Control Directors (CRCPD) Roundtable on Communication and Teamwork: Keys to Successful Radiological Response

Report on the CDC Conference of Radiation Control Directors (CRCPD) Roundtable on Communication and Teamwork: Keys to Successful Radiological Response provides details on a roundtable between representatives of CDC partner organizations: Association of State and Territorial Health Officials (ASTHO), CRCPD, Council of State and Territorial Epidemiologists (CSTE), and the National Association of County and City Health Officials (NACCHO). The roundtable, which took place in June 2008, focused on the following:
 

  • Understanding the mutual responsibilities for preparing and responding to radiation incidents
  • Strengthening communication and improving working relationships among participating organizations
  • Sharing information on available resources
  • Increasing awareness of emerging roles and responsibilities in a radiation incident

The report details this roundtable’s proceedings and conclusions, and provides materials utilized during the roundtable, as well as comments/suggestions and a list of attendees. The document was developed by a working group within CRCPD.

Report on the CDC Conference of Radiation Control Directors (CRCPD) Workshop: Alliance to Expand Radiological Emergency Preparedness in Public Health

Report on the CDC Conference of Radiation Control Directors (CRCPD) Workshop: Alliance to Expand Radiological Emergency Preparedness in Public Health describes a workshop held in Atlanta, Georgia on April 1-2, 2009. This workshop was meant to build off of the priorities set by the CDC Conference of Radiation Control Directors (CRCPD) Roundtable on Communication and Teamwork: Keys to Successful Radiological Response in June 2008—building relationships, addressing the need for funding, and developing consistency in radiological emergency response. The report contains a description of the workshop, conclusions, workshop materials, and an executive summary of the aforementioned June 2008 roundtable between representatives of CDC, ASTHO, CRCPD, CSTE and NACCHO. The document was developed by a committee of CRCPD.
