We learned that the warning signs of heat
exhaustion include
• Heavy sweating
• Paleness
• Muscle cramps
• Tiredness
• Weakness
• Dizziness
• Headache
• Nausea or vomiting
• Fainting
We also learned that other possible symptoms include
• Cool and moist skin.
• Fast and weak pulse rate.
• Fast and shallow breathing.
Finally, if left untreated, heat exhaustion can progress to heat stroke.
Remember to treat heat exhaustion by
• Drinking water, clear juice, or a sports beverage.
• Resting.
• Taking a cool shower, bath, or sponge bath.
• Seeking an air-conditioned environment.
• Wearing lightweight clothing.
