Examples of how Idaho is working to prevent overdose
Enhanced public safety education
The Public Health Districts in Idaho successfully built capacity within 35 public safety agencies by developing and providing opioid overdose and naloxone trainings that include information on addiction, naloxone administration, anti-stigma language, and community resources for local law enforcement and emergency medical service agencies.
Opioid prevention campaign
Idaho launched a campaign with tailored media messages and audience outreach regarding opioid use, prevention, and treatment. The campaign shared real stories to connect with audiences and decrease the stigma of addiction. This campaign received over 2 million media impressions statewide.
