Increasing Community Access to Testing, Treatment and Response (ICATT)

Purpose

  • The Increasing Community Access to Testing (ICATT) program has expanded into the Increasing Community Access to Testing, Treatment and Response (ICATT) program. The ICATT program, through public-private partnerships with pharmacies, supports public health surveillance, research, prevention, and emergency responses to improve the health of under-resourced communities and populations.

Overview

Established during the Trump Administration in April 2020, the CDC Increasing Community Access to Testing, Treatment and Response (ICATT) program currently provides no-cost COVID-19 testing through CVS Health, Walgreens pharmacies, eTrueNorth subcontracted independent pharmacies, and Quest Laboratories for uninsured people who are symptomatic or exposed to COVID-19. ICATT increases community access to COVID-19 testing for the uninsured populations. Over 10,000 ICATT sites can forward samples, administer vaccines, perform testing, conduct medical assessments, and link patients to no-cost therapeutic services. Currently, the ICATT program offers respiratory disease testing, medical assessments, and linkage to no-cost COVID-19 therapeutics.

ICATT also offers surge testing to under-resourced communities to provide expanded community testing in response to respiratory disease outbreaks.

ICATT will continue to offer no-cost services to people without health insurance through May 31, 2025. This work supports public health disease surveillance and helps maintain a network of pharmacies capable of immediately responding to large scale public health emergencies. The ICATT website will provide updates regarding program activities as necessary.
