Why an HBCU?
I chose Paine College because of its strong spiritual foundation, academic excellence, social responsibility, and personal development towards preparing spiritually centered men and women for positions of leadership and service. Ultimately, "Black Excellence" is the priority, celebrated and recognized at all levels.

How did it shape you?
My HBCU taught me to lead with a sense of grace, humility, and confidence.

Most significant memory?
I'll never forget the moment I realized that I was surrounded by scholars who would become lifelong friends and leaders in their own right. It was also refreshing to know that I was walking the same halls as Joseph Lowery, Louis Lomax, and Michael Thurmond, to name a few.
