Clint Liveoak, J.D., M.P.A. serves as DGHT's Deputy Director for Management and Overseas Operations for CDC's Division of Global HIV & TB.

CDC role

Clint Liveoak, J.D., M.P.A. serves as DGHT's Deputy Director for Management and Overseas Operations for CDC's Division of Global HIV & TB.

Previous experience

Prior to this position, Liveoak served as CDC's Deputy Country Director in South Africa. While in South Africa, Liveoak also served as CDC's principal management official. In this role, he led all operational activities, including strategic planning and financial oversight, human resources, and stakeholder engagement.

Before joining CDC South Africa, Liveoak served as the CDC Deputy Country Director in the Central Asia Region. During this time, he led PEPFAR programs across the region and advocated for CDC's Central Asia programs in the broader interagency PEPFAR Asia Region Operating Unit. Liveoak also played a critical role in opening the CDC Burma office.

While in DGHT, he also completed detail assignments with the Office of the Global AIDS Coordinator and the HHS/Office of Global Affairs. In this position, he strengthened multilateral engagement and sustainability initiatives and ensured good stewardship of U.S. Government investments.

Education

Liveoak holds a Doctor of Jurisprudence (JD) and master's degree in public administration (MPA) from Indiana University-Bloomington.
