Increasing Radon Awareness in Delaware
Radon, an odorless and invisible radioactive gas that can build up in homes and buildings, is a concern for Delaware residents. The Tracking Program focused communication efforts during Radon Awareness Week to share information about testing homes for radon. Working with the state's radon program, Delaware Tracking shared CDC communication material on social media. The messaging included links to obtain free radon test kits for residents. This targeted education and community engagement increased the overall number of test kits ordered by 150% during the month of promotion. With increased knowledge and home test results, more Delawareans can take steps to protect themselves from radon.
