Early Signs of Shock

It is critical to identify patients in compensated shock and to intervene at this stage before they develop decompensated shock.  

Early signs of shock include

  • Narrowing of PP with rising DBP
  • Delayed capillary refill (> 2 seconds)
  • Tachycardia in absence of fever
