Dr. Edgerton is a professor in the Department of Pathology and Microbiology at the University of Nebraska Medical Center.
Experience
Dr. Edgerton is board certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology and Clinical Informatics. She has extensive pathology informatics experience, including research in data mining, bioinformatics, and mathematical modeling of tumors.
Dr. Edgerton was one of thirty American students awarded the prestigious Marshall Scholarship in 1976. The scholarship is for graduate study in the United Kingdom. She worked in basic research in academia and the oil industry before becoming a physician.
She has worked on developing multiple integrated information platforms for tissue acquisition, clinical annotation, and molecular profiling. She is internationally recognized in the field of tissue informatics.
Dr. Edgerton is the active with the College of American Pathologists as:

- Member: Information Technology Leadership Committee
- Member: Council for Pathology Informatics and Innovation.
She has published over 90 manuscripts and abstracts in the public literature. She also published more than 20 proprietary research papers while working in the oil industry.
