Key points
CDC recommends airborne exposure limits (AELs) for chemical warfare agents to protect workers and the public. CDC periodically reviews these limits to see if new risk assessment methods and toxicity data suggest the need for revisions.
Airborne Exposure Limits
- Nerve agent (GA, GB, and VX) exposure limits (govinfo.gov) were revised in 2003.
- Sulfur mustard (H, HD) exposure limits (govinfo.gov) were revised in 2004.
- Lewisite exposure limits (govinfo.gov) were developed in 1988 and are under review.
