Health Impact Assessment (HIA): Coal gasification

Event: Health Impact Assessment (HIA)
Location: Green River District
Purpose: HIA of three planned coal gasification plants that were being considered in the Green River District. The HIA's goal was to do the following:
- Project the health benefits and consequences of these plants
- Identify how they are influenced by public policy
- Make recommendations to decision-makers
As part of the HIA, a CASPER was conducted to assess perceived health benefits/risks of the coal gasification plants. Additionally, the CASPER assessed the health status of the community.
