The Minnesota Department of Health Public Health Laboratories will complete the last two cycles of a statewide biomonitoring surveillance program, Healthy Kids Minnesota, to assess for exposure of flame retardants, phthalates, metals, phenols, and pesticides in 3–6-year-olds.

The Minnesota Department of Health Public Health Laboratories focusing on increasing capability and capacity for ongoing biomonitoring and reducing exposures to harmful environmental chemicals in Minnesota children. The program aims to further expand the Healthy Rural and Urban Kids project (Healthy Kids) to assess for exposure of flame retardants, phthalates, metals, phenols, and pesticides in 3-6 year olds across the state.
