The Children’s Health Act of 2000 authorized the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to create the Autism and Developmental Disabilities Monitoring (ADDM) Network. The ADDM Network tracks the number and characteristics of children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and other developmental disabilities in diverse communities throughout the United States.
