Ergonomic Interventions in the Building, Repair, and Dismantling of Ships

Easy Fixes: Storage Locker For Welding Unit

Hazard: Individual welding units weigh between 30 and 40 pounds and must be carried to the location of the work task, of on board vessels under construction or repair.

Solution: Thirty two separate welding units can be stored in this locker wall unit. The locker unit can then be lifted on the deck of the vessel to minimize manual material handling of the welding units (see photo).
