Easy Fixes: Portable Air Conditioning

Hazard: Heat stress among shipyard workers in the summer months is a concern. Working below decks in a steel structure minimizes natural ventilation and can expose workers to ambient temperatures well above 100 º F.

Solution: Portable air conditioning units (see photo) can provide relief from hot and humid environments below decks. Units can be leased over the summer months if year round air conditioning is not required.
